Creativity, Healing, Writing and Self-Love

What does it mean to write?

What do you see as the connection between writing and healing?

I hesitated about starting a blog again. I used to write for our clinic's website and on the Medium platform for a while.

Then I stopped as self-doubt & fear got in the way.
Is my writing any good?
Do people even care?

Why write? Writing is healing for me.

I wrote a lot after my parents passed away to process my grief and anger. I wrote about my upbringing, the Chinese culture and ancestral healing. I wrote in journals. I wrote on paper or on napkins.
For a while, I even wrote poems. Then I stopped again.

In the last few months, I participated in a therapeutic writing program hosted by one of my favourite humans, and I am reminded again of the power of writing. It helped me to process my feelings and experiences safely.

So here I am, writing again.

My intention for this blog is to share my experiences and explore topics that can (hopefully) help our healing process. Follow along as I explore how to make a difference in this world with the time I have left in this beautiful place we call earth.

“When we drop fear, we can draw nearer to people, we can draw nearer to the earth, we can draw nearer to all the heavenly creatures that surround us.”

~ Bell Hooks, poet
